July 2024 Update

The July trip to visit our widows was such an incredible experience for our team! Before, during, and after a delay in our plans due to Hurricane Beryl, God blessed the trip in so many ways. 🏍️ Food Delivery on a Motorcycle 🏍️ Miqueas and his brother, Jeffery, deliver food and household items every month to all of our widows. The communities the widows are in are approximately 15 minutes away from Barahona Central. The issue is they deliver everything on a motorcycle. Wow! What an amazing week we just had on the island. One of our dreams was to bring widows from the United States to serve and love on our widows in the Dominican Republic. And man, did God bring the right people to this trip.

Gloria has accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Not only are the heavens celebrating but our team at For the Widow is overjoyed at this decision!

January 2024 Update

January has been a great start to the year for the widows ministry. Each widow received their food for the month and has participated in a group bible study with Miqueas and the other widows in their community.

December 2023 Update

In the Dominican Republic, Thanksgiving is celebrated on December 24th, followed by Christmas on the 25th. This year, on December 23rd, we provided food and festive decorations to each of the widows in our care!

Wow! October and November were amazing for the ministry and our new widows. Thanks to your support and generosity, we showed the widows God’s blessings by meeting several immediate needs and providing food for the month.

A New Beginning

Our goal for this trip was to positively impact widows' lives in the name of God. What God demonstrated was the ripple effect that happens when we care for widows. They are not the only ones impacted … their children, grandchildren, families, neighbors … and the people who are there to help them … are all affected when we follow God’s command to “care for widows” (James 1:27).
