Program Directors and Board Members

Our team is committed to honoring Jesus by leading with integrity, generosity, and faith.

Peter & Meredith Chase

Founders - Board President & Executive Director

Peter and Meredith Chase first started a widows ministry in 2018. After working through another organization, they felt led to start their own ministry, and in 2023 that dream became a reality with For the Widow Ministries.

Meredith serves as the Executive Director, and Peter is the Board President. Their goal is to love and serve widows in the Dominican Republic and wherever else the Lord leads the ministry. While there have been challenges along the way in establishing the ministry, they have seen God’s hand open doors throughout the process and are excited to see what he has in store for the future of For the Widow.

Peter and Meredith live in Midlothian, Texas, with their three children, Audrey (17), Kaleigh (14), and Lucas (8). Together, they are the owners of 1558 Brand Agency, a full-service marketing agency. In their spare time, they like to travel and spend time with their children.

Miqueas Julian

Program Director - Dominican Republic

Miqueas serves as our program director in the Dominican Republic. He is a 34-year-old youth leader, translator, guitar teacher, and a part of his church worship ministry team. After growing up in the church, Miqueas made the decision to follow Jesus when he was 15. While he worked a variety of jobs growing up, he found that he had a true passion for sharing the word of God with others, and he has made it his mission to love and serve others through music and evangelism.

As the program director, Miqueas visits each of the widows on a regular basis to deliver food, get health and wellness updates, and spend time in prayer with them. He also helps to lead and coordinate trips to the island for all of our teams.

Miqeuas lives in Barahona with his wife, Maryluz Emilia Vargas, and his three children, Emil Johanser Julian (14), Meiquel Frandy Julian (7), and Miqueisy Airelis Julian (2). Outside of ministry and music, Miqueas enjoys spending time with his family and playing basketball.

Shelbi Garcia

Treasurer

Shelbi is a resident of Midlothian, TX. She has served as a social worker in the adoption and foster care field for 13 years. She has also enjoyed serving as a children’s pastor for 15 years. She and her husband, Andrew, have the privilege of raising four incredible children who are 16, 14, 11, and 9. Shelbi is passionate about the mission of serving widows as well as orphans!

Kiki Chase

Secretary

Kiki serves as the board secretary of For the Widow. She has lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for 14 years. During that time, she has worked in the restaurant industry and in marketing for an international entertainment company. She now works on proofing and writing projects for 1558 Brand Agency. Kiki first visited the DR in the summer of 2022 and it changed her life. She is eager to return and excited for the opportunity to serve even more widows through our new ministry.

Stacey Stanford

Board Member

Stacey is a resident of Madison, MS. She first visited Hispaniola in 2013 and fell in love with the people and culture. Since that time, she has returned almost annually to visit and serve the people of the island. She has always admired how appreciative they are of anything you do for them and believes that they are definitely a group of people that you learn more from them than they from you! Prior to For the Widow, Stacey has supported a widow in the DR for the past 5 years. Stacey and her husband Scott Stanford have been married for 26 years and have two children, Caroline (20) and Paxson (18). She has been a neonatal nurse practitioner for the past 24 years.

Beth Childs

Board Member

Beth fervently believes the best decision she ever made was accepting Christ when she was six years old. And she traces her interest in mission work back to her parents, who were involved in local and international mission work. But Beth's greatest spiritual influence was her widowed grandmother, whose dependence on and devotion to Jesus and her servant's heart for other widows and needy people greatly impacted her life. Beth has been an occupational therapist for 34 years, spending seven of those years in home healthcare serving older adults, many of whom were widows; a career choice she feels was God preparing her to serve in For The Widow! Beth has also served through foreign mission work and on FBC Midlothian's Mission Committee, as well as directing their ELS Ministry. She feels the greatest blessing God has given her is being married to Jay Childs for 41 years and raising their three precious boys, Cameron (30), Hunter (28), and Spencer (21).

Everyone plays a role

Be a part of the ripple effect of God’s love

Whether you can support the care of an individual widow, provide for specific needs, or be a founding supporter who provides operational resources, your generosity will go directly to the mission of the organization.
