The July trip to visit our widows was such an incredible experience for our team! Before, during, and after a delay in our plans due to Hurricane Beryl, God blessed the trip in so many ways. We had an awesome mix of younger and older participants which allowed us to reach the communities we serve in some unique ways.
Wow! What an amazing week we just had on the island. One of our dreams was to bring widows from the United States to serve and love on our widows in the Dominican Republic. And man, did God bring the right people to this trip.
Our goal for this trip was to positively impact widows’ lives in the name of God. What God demonstrated was the ripple effect that happens when we care for widows. They are not the only ones impacted … their children, grandchildren, families, neighbors … and the people who are there to help them … are all affected when we follow God’s command to “care for widows” (James 1:27). It was amazing to see and be a part of!
