Come and Serve with Us

an incredible Mission Trip Experience!

Join For the Widow Ministries for a mission trip to Barahona, Dominican Republic to serve the most beautiful widows and share the gospel of Jesus Christ to the community. The focus of this trip is bringing hope and year for the holidays!

Trip Lead: Meredith Chase
Dates: November 7-14, 2026
Location: Barahona, Dominican Republic
Cost: $1,800/person (including flight, depending on location) OR $900/person (without flight)

The fee paid to For the Widow Ministries includes ground transportation, food, lodging, and translators. Each participant may book and pay for their flight directly or this can be done by For the Widow. The only additional money you will need to bring is for souvenirs and a tip for the staff. Each participant may tip whatever they feel led to give but this amount is typically $25-40 per person.

Lodging and Food: The For the Widow Mission House in Barahona is a secure, gated, two-story home where we will stay during the trip. It is owned by a local family. The mission house has AC in the 6 bedrooms for comfortable sleeping. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are cooked and provided by the For the Widow team daily. The food is a combination of local cuisine with some American options. Bottled and filtered water is provided as the water is unsafe to drink.

Flight: If a participant decides to book their own flights, all flights must arrive in Santo Domingo (SDQ), Dominican Republic by 2:00 pm on the day of arrival. Returning flights to the U.S. must depart no earlier than 2:00 pm. You will be responsible for any additional expenses incurred if you are unable to arrive and leave by these times as we have transportation arrangement pre-set.

Schedule: On day 1, we will fly into Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. We will be greeted by our local program director at the airport where we will board an air-conditioned bus and travel 3-4 hours to Barahona where we will remain for the duration of the trip. We will have one scheduled stop for a restroom and snack break.

For the next 6 days, we will visit each of the widows in the program and will focus on building relationships, prayer, sharing the gospel, and encouraging them in their faith. We will complete any projects needed to support the widows, their family, and people in the community. We will have daily opportunities to share the gospel and minister to the people in each of the communities we visit through street evangelism and Bible study. Mid-week, we will enjoy local scenery at the beach, shop at the supermarket for souvenirs, and have a gathering at the mission house with the widows that evening.

On day 8, we will return to the airport in Santo Domingo and fly home.

Make a Lasting Impact

Every ministry must have committed financial supporters to complete the work God has called them to do. We are no different. Whether you can support the care of an individual widow, provide for specific needs, or be a founding supporter who provides operational resources, your generosity will go directly to the mission of the organization.
