Para la viuda

Sharing the hope and love of Christ to widows in need

For the Widow Ministries brings hope to widows in the Dominican Republic through hands-on care, biblical discipleship, and community support. Rooted in James 1:27, our widow ministry serves  widows across multiple communities in Barahona, providing monthly visits, groceries, prayer, and the love of Christ.

Whether you’re called to serve on a mission trip, sponsor a widow, or partner with us in building our Widows Empowerment Center, there’s a place for you in this life-changing ministry.

Our Mission

Care for Widows, Make Disciples

We believe that caring for widows isn’t just charity — it’s obedience to God’s heart. Since 2022, we’ve walked alongside widows who have lost everything, bringing them physical provision, spiritual encouragement, and the hope of the gospel. For the Widow exists to not only serve individual widows, but to see the ripple effect of God’s love spread to every man, woman, and child as a result.

Our approach is relationship-first. We don’t just drop off supplies; we sit in their homes, pray with them, listen to their stories, and build lasting friendships that transform lives on both sides.

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress.
- James 1:27

Everyone plays a role - Three Ways to Make an Impact

What will you do to answer the call?

The Bible is clear in its command to care for the widow. For the Widow Ministries depends on Christians around the world who are serious about following that command. Not everyone can serve in every way, but there’s a place for you to serve with us.

Sponsor.

With a sponsorship, your financial support goes directly to aid a specific widow. This allows our team to share the love of God by consistently providing food, evangelism, and personal interaction.

Give.

Every ministry needs committed financial supporters to complete the work God has called them for. When you donate, your generosity will go directly to the mission of the organization.

Pray.

Prayer partners are essential to every ministry. We believe that God listens to the prayers of his people, and we seek individuals who will pray fervently and consistently for the widows and the work being done.

Go.

A mission trip can be a life-changing experience. We have found that the best way to be a part of this ministry and serve the widows is to go on a trip and see everything firsthand with our team or a team of your own.
